HWB - ESQ. PLLC  was founded as a full service law firm with a special emphasis on federal
and state litigation.  Legal services include representation and consultation on serious criminal
and civil matters in all state and Federal courts in Washington state, as well as the Federal
District Courts in the Northern and Central Districts of California, and all California state courts.

Hugh W. Berry
is the founder of HWB - ESQ. PLLC.  Hugh is an experienced attorney, with
over 15 years of litigation experience.  
Hugh received his B.A. degree in History, Cum Laude,
from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and his J.D. from the UCLA School of
Law, where he was awarded the
UCLA Fellowship and Florence Wilson Fellowship Awards.  
During law school
Hugh was also a Staff Editor for the National Black Law Journal, as well as a
Teaching Assistant for the
UCLA Law School Legal Research and Writing Program.   

After law school
Hugh began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in San Bernardino
County, California.  He then moved to Washington State where he worked as a Deputy
Prosecuting Attorney for the King County Prosecutor's Office, an Assistant Regional Counsel for
the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and a Federal Prosecutor for
theUnited States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Washington, in Seattle.  

During his time in the United States Attorney's Office in Seattle,
Hugh was a member of two of
the most elite prosecution units in that office: The Organized Crime/Drug Enforcement Task
Force (OCDETF) Unit and the Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property (CHIP's) Unit.

As a former Federal and State Prosecutor
Hugh has litigated literally hundreds of cases ranging
from Complex Crime and Cyber-Crime to Organized Crime and Major Drug Distribution Cases.  
Hugh has received numerous awards from various agencies for his consistently excellent
performance and the high caliber of his litigation skills.  A few of these awards are listed below:
